Art Lab is a co-operative studio gallery with artists working in a
variety of styles and media including paint, ink, clay, stone, photography,
fabric, and more. Everyone is welcome to watch artists at work, purchase
original pieces, take a workshop, or simply grab an art book from our library,
put up your feet and chill with a cuppa.
We offer a selection of high quality art supplies, including much sought-after Rosemary & Co handmade artists' brushes from England, Golden acrylic paints (Heavy Body & High Flow), Stevenson's oil paints (made in Canada), and Prismacolor Premier pencils.

Jill has Ms. Storm's grade 2 class mesmerized as she tells the story of Eos, Goddess of the Sunrise, who features in one of her paintings. |
The space includes a 1200 square foot studio/gallery area; 450 square foot workroom for messy media and workshops; 400 square foot community gallery/workspace; washrooms; storage; large parking lot; incredible view of the Minas Basin; and a neighbourhood crow who observes our comings and goings.
Fica, the gallery assistant, helps with the hanging (herding) of the exhibitions. Here she is casting a practiced eye over the Wool Viking Bra by Associate Member Nancy Spear. |
